Throughout history many nations have suffered a physical defeat, but that has never marked the end of a nation. But when a nation has become the victim of a psychological defeat, then that marks the end of a nation.                                        Ibn Khaldun 14th century

If you want to understand today, you have to search yesterday.                            ~Pearl Buck

To write history is as important as to make history. It is an unchanging truth that if the writer does not remain true to the maker, then it takes on a quality that will confuse humanity.                                                                                                               - Kemal Ataturk

INDEPENDENT LEARNING REQUIRES SELF-DISCIPLINE

SIGNIFICANCE  - Why this matters. Historiography is the study of history writing. As historians make new evidence and interpretations available debates and new understandings of the past become possible. In this task, students conduct their own investigations to understand the process of history writing and how it influences explanations about individuals and their times.

YOU WILL NEED TO DEMONSTRATE COMPETENCE IN THE FOLLOWING OUTCOMES FROM THE SYLLABUS:

Subject: Good Luck

For any new students doing this assessments, my advice is to invest your time wisely. Although it may seem appealing to frolic around instead of researching it wont end too well in the end. As you do your research and implement it into your essay, do your bibliography as you go!!! This may not be important to you then, it may be very overwhelming when you go back to find out what information came from which website. I wish you all the best of luck.
P.S some of the topics we looked at: American Civil War, Communist Russia, Feudal Japan and the Reign of Terror in France

Subject: Che Guevara

This week, i focused mostly on finding primary and secondary sources to help me complete worksheet 3A. I visited the Amazon website and managed to find both primary and secondary sources . This is helping me come to a conclusion to my essay statement about Che Guevara whether he had a positive or negative influence . I managed to find primary sources written by Che Guevara himself such as ones written in his diaries. I also found other sources which were secondary such as books that were written about him and what he done. There are not many sources such as website/books that talk about Che Guevara from an objective View which makes it difficult for one to make their own judgement about him. I also continued reading about his biography and watching documentaries about him and what major events occurred during his lifetime. I will continue finding a variety of primary and secondary sources and make sure that the majority of worksheet 3A is complete by the end of this week.

This week i have started to combine my evidences to formulate an extended response for my essay question. I have begun to ask more questions about the Meiji so i have turned these questions into sub topics which i can later research for my essay. But before ive done these, i have continued to look extensively for major primary sources such as pictures and quotes from books which have been written in that era
