Research Proposal and Organisation

This component of your independent histoircal invesitgation will be incorporated into your overall asessment mark. It will comprise 5% of the total weighting.
 

 

PRELIMINARY RESEARCH PROPOSAL TEMPLATE

 

Complete the following preliminary worksheets before commencing your writing.

Your teacher will need to cite these before you can commence. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROCEED BEFORE THIS PRELIMINARY WORK IS PROPERLY COMPLETED.

  • You need to do each of the required STEPS on a Word document and submit it to your teacher on due dates. Failure to do this will mean you have not met syllabus requirements. 
  • You will not be permitted to proceed to other required STEPS without adequately completed preceding Proposal Steps.
  • You will need to manage you time wisely to ensure these components are met. 
  • HIstorical Invetigation is a compulsory component of the Preliminary History course.
  • You must demonstrate that you have used a variety of primary and secondary sources including journal articles, diaries, letters, textbooks, essays written by scholars etc.. 
 

How Do I Organise My Research?

 
Success in research is ORGANISATION. Before you begin delving in to reading, sources, viewing documentaries and note making consider the followong tips:
 
  1. Create a folder titled: My RESEARCH SOURCES - PRIMARY
  2. Create a second folder tilted: SECONDARY SOURCES
  3. Crerate a third folder: VISUAL SOURCES
  4. Create a BIBLIOGRAPHY FOLDER where you will keep a list of your rour resources that you will put together at the end.
